This privacy policy (“Policy”) describes how we at Connections for Autism, LLC (“Company” or “CFA”) collect, use and share personal information of consumer users of this website, www.connectionfsorautism.com, or other CFA websites, and data collected through the provision of CFA products or services (collectively, the "Services"). Because CFA gathers certain types of information about the users of the Services, we believe you should fully understand the terms and conditions surrounding the use of the information we collect. The following discloses our information gathering and dissemination practices for the Services.  If you are using any of the Services through an institution that has a direct contract with CFA, this policy does not supersede the terms of any of those written agreements, nor does it alter the terms of any agreement between any user of the Services and their employer, their educational institution or any third party.  Please make sure that you read the terms of any privacy policies that you enter into with parties other than CFA, including your employer or educational institution, as those policies may also explain how your personal information is used by those parties. Please review the following statement to understand how the information you provide to CFA through the Services will be treated. This Policy also applies to any of our other websites that post or link to this Policy. This Policy does not apply to websites that post different statements. 

Also, please be aware that advertisers or Web sites that are linked to the Services may collect personally identifiable information about you. The information practices of those Web sites linked to the Services are not covered by this Privacy Policy and CFA is not responsible for the privacy practices or the content of such Web sites.

WHAT WE COLLECT

We get information about you in a range of ways.

 Information You Give Us. When you register, we will request certain personal information, including, but not limited to, contact information, such as your name, postal address, city and state, phone number, username, password and e-mail address. We may also collect demographic information (such as your gender and occupation), as well as other information you directly give us through the Services.

Information We Get From Others. We may get information about you from other sources. We may add this to information we get from the Services.

Information Automatically Collected. We automatically log information about you and your computer. For example, when using our Services, we log your computer operating system type, browser type, browser language, the website you visited before browsing to our Service, pages you viewed, how long you spent on a page, access times, IP address, and information about your use of and actions on our Service. When you access our Services by or through a mobile device, we may receive or collect and store unique identification numbers associated with your device or our mobile application (including, for example, a UDID, Unique ID for Advertisers (“IDFA”), Google Ad ID, or Windows Advertising ID), mobile carrier, device type, model and manufacturer, mobile device operating system brand and model, phone number, and, depending on your mobile device settings, your geographical location data, including GPS coordinates (e.g. latitude and/or longitude) or similar information regarding the location of your mobile device.[A1] 

Cookies. We may log information using "cookies." Cookies are small data files stored on your hard drive by a website. We may use both session Cookies (which expire once you close your web browser) and persistent Cookies (which stay on your computer until you delete them) to provide you with a more personal and interactive experience on our Service. USE OF PERSONAL INFORMATION

We may use Automatically Collected Information, described above, for sales and marketing purposes as well as system performance monitoring. These logs are analyzed for the aggregate trends they reveal about our customers and how the customers use the Services. We may also collect analytics data, or use third-party analytics tools, to help us measure traffic and usage trends for the Service and to understand more about the demographics of our users. These tools collect information sent by your browser or mobile device, including the pages you visit, your use of third party applications, and other information that assists us in analyzing and improving the Services. Although we do our best to honor the privacy preferences of our visitors, we are not able to respond to Do Not Track signals from your browser at this time.[A3] 

SHARING OF PERSONAL INFORMATION

The personal information you supply to CFA will not be given, sold, rented, loaned, or otherwise disclosed to any third parties outside of CFA and its agents, except when we have your permission or under special circumstances. For example, but not limited to, the following:

  • We may share personal information with your consent. For example, you may let us share personal information with others for their own marketing uses. Those uses will be subject to their privacy policies.

We may also use aggregated personal information to determine the demographic composition of our user base and to distribute statistics and general marketplace information about CFA. This aggregate information does not identify specific users. CFA may disclose aggregated user statistics in order to describe the Services to prospective partners, advertisers, and other third parties, and for other lawful purposes. Some features of the Services may be offered in conjunction with a partner company. In order to provide these features, it may be necessary for either you or us to share your personal information with this company. If you do not want your information to be shared, you can choose not to allow the transfer by not using that particular feature.

CFA utilizes other companies to provide limited services on its behalf, including but not limited to customer support, web analytics, coordination of mailings and event management. These companies are permitted to access only the information they require to perform those services. CFA requires these companies to maintain the confidentiality of any personal information and prohibits them from using the information for any other purpose than the purpose for which it was collected.

CFA may share personal information other than Student Data, as defined below, with other parties in connection with any company transaction, such as a merger, sale of all or a portion of company assets or shares, reorganization, financing, change of control or acquisition of all or a portion of our business by another company or third party or in the event of bankruptcy or related or similar proceedings.  CFA’s transfer of Student Data to a third party in the event of a company transaction is governed by our Terms of Use, our agreements with our educational institutions and applicable law.

SECURITY AND CONSENT TO TRANSFER TO UNITED STATES SERVERS

CFA maintains reasonable administrative, technical and physical procedures to protect information stored in our servers, which are located in the United States and in other jurisdictions in which CFA, its subsidiaries and affiliates maintain facilities. By using the CFA service, you consent to transfer of your data to servers in the United States. Security safeguards may include but are not limited to data encryption, firewalls, data use and access limitations, and physical access controls to buildings. INFORMATION CHOICES AND CHANGES

Our marketing emails tell you how to “opt-out.” If you opt out, we may still send you non-marketing emails. Non-marketing emails include emails about your accounts and our business dealings with you.

You may also send requests about personal information to our Contact Information below. You can request to change contact choices, opt-out of our sharing with others, and update your personal information.

You can typically remove and reject cookies from our Service with your browser settings. Many browsers are set to accept cookies until you change your settings. If you remove or reject our cookies, it could affect how our Services work for you.

STUDENT DATA

CFA provides Services to schools, educational institutions and other educators and providers (each an “Educator”) to improve student learning outcomes. Through the provision of these Services, CFA may collect, if provided by an Educator, personally identifiable information or education records from or about students (“Student Data”). We consider such Student Data to be strictly confidential do not use such data for any purpose other than improving and providing our Services to the Educator or on the Educator’s behalf. Our collection, use and sharing of Student Data is governed by our Terms of Use, our contracts with certain educational institutions, in the U.S. by the provisions of the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA) and applicable state laws, and by other state, federal, and international laws as applicable, but not by the provisions contained in this Privacy Policy. If you have any questions about reviewing, modifying, or deleting personal information of a student, please contact your educational institution directly.

CHILDREN

CFA does not knowingly collect personal information from children under the age of 18 without parental consent or unless a school or educational institution has provided appropriate representations to us of parental consent. Even where we have consent, Student Data is handled in accordance with the “Student Data” section, above. Please contact us at requests@connectionsforautism.com if you believe we have inadvertently collected personal information from a child under 13 without proper consent or to request deletion of information about a child so that we may delete such information as soon as possible.

CHANGES TO THIS PRIVACY POLICY. We may change this privacy policy. If we make any changes, we will change the Last Updated date above.

Notwithstanding the foregoing, however, with respect to Student Data, our data privacy practices are governed by our Terms of Use and our agreements with educational institutions and applicable law regardless of any changes to this policy.
